When War Goes Viral

By now, most vertebrates have come to understand that the whole world was flim-flammed by the MediQuacks and pharmacorporate stooges (Fauci, Offit, Wallensky) during the Great Plandemic, but surprisingly few seem to have gone back to question the original premise by which this awful chain of viral dominos was propelled.

The Wuhan lab which supposedly let the Covid kitten out of the sack was engaged in something called “Gain of Function” Research. Now, one look at that title lets you know that the chair-warming defense department bureaucrat that thought this up either was unfamiliar with the English language (possible, because this mess was allegedly concocted in China) or was deliberately trying to conceal meaning (more likely, because it probably came from the defense department, whose job is to tell you nothing and then send you the bill for whatever they’re not telling you).

In case you never got around to reading the definition, “Gain of Function” is another way of saying “Making A Horrible Disease A Thousand Times Worse”. Looking at it that way, you can guess that maybe that bureaucrat in Arlington knew what he was doing.

Long before this Plandemic, my question has been a simple one:

“Why would you want to make a horrible disease a thousand times worse?”

And I’m kind of shocked that this really isn’t a part of the national conversation. If you wrote a list of pros and cons on a blackboard, only military myopics like John Bolton or Veronica Hilton or Marco Rubio could think of anything to write on the Pro side.

They’d say it was a great weapon, and was great not despite the fact that it was terrifying and uncontrollable, but because it was terrifying and uncontrollable. And they’d have a good reason for saying that, because they’re well compensated by the defense industry and the military so sure they’re going to say things like that. They might not actually be crazy, but—like the “Gain of Function” war toys they tout, being terrifying and uncontrollable is their stock in trade.

But my mystification doesn’t focus on them. I’m talking about regular people, the ones that would be the first victims of the weapons John Bolton and his gun-toting buddies are so thrilled about. Why aren’t we talking about this? How is this kind of research useful—or even possible in a society which values human life, decency and freedom?

Vax or Anti-Vax, at least the Covid vaccines were sold as a cure to disease or a disease preventative. “Gain of Function” is a science fiction war toy suitable only for the fantasies of nationalist madmen with too much disposable income and too little sense.
